RE: Ride improvement advice needed
Gary, I too have been thrilled with Mor/Ryde on a previous coach. I now have Trail Air front and rear on a 37' Holiday Rambler. Sweet ride and seems to like the expansion joints too.
you could not go wrong either way,

RE: Type of 5th wheel hitch
Pearlbum,
Reese/Drawtite are the leaders in the industry. Anybody who would tell you to stay away from their product has no clue on how to buy, or how to give advice. I do not own stock in the company, nor do I really care which hitch you go with as they have developers and engineers that have worked their tails off for years to develop a safe and reliable product that will stand up to the test of time. Do your own research from here and ignore someone who tries to lead you in another direction.

RE: Durango 5th wheels by KZ
cdhd,
Sorry your deal fell through. Had the same problem with a kz dealer up in Minnesota. Had a deal all worked out to trade up to an 08 Escalade from a Sunnybrook 06. The boss came in from out of town, sat down with him and the salesman/service manager and the next thing I know I'm out of there after they refused to take a nice trade. Felt like I had a piece of junk. Went across town to the Holiday Rambler dealer and now have the 08 Presidential 37. They are happy and me too.....bottom line is I know how you feel. Don't know your details but I did find out that some dealers are willing to deal and you can still get the floor plan you are looking for. I actually ended up with the floor plan I really wanted in the 37SKQ. Be patient and go get what you deserve. I still think kz builds a heck of a coach though. But now I'm a Holiday Rambler guy and do they ever have a heck of a membership group, as I'm sure kz does.
Good Luck,

RE: How Fast to Drive?
I've run in the left lane with the fast guys, and right lane with the take it easy folks. I prefer the left lane with the guys that are passing. Too much stress in the right lane for me, especially when you come across the guy who is going right at the posted speed and there is a mile long lineup in the left lane.....and you're stuck there for awhile. Engine wise, the TV prefers around 2000 rpm, no way I can go 55 at 1500 rpm, too slow. Bottom line is check your rpm, versus what you're comfortable running, it will come to you sooner or later. Look farther down the road and anticipate situations before they arise, while being very aware what is going on in your rear view mirror, and be ready to adjust your throttle foot accordingly all day long. Also, if you can cruise with a pack you will get way better gas mileage as they will break the air for you while providing a follow current that will require less gas pedal. Probably for really experienced towers but it is available to you if you get experienced enough. Good Luck,

RE: how much can an F-350 push backwards uphill?
Thank You for all of the great advice and areas of concern to think about. This site is really cool the way you all jump in and want to help. I'll pay attention to the advice, make sure the nuts and bolts are tight, I'll lock that beasty into 4 low and get my rear end out of there after a great summer at the lake. I am overwhelmed at the views and thankful for the responses, if we could meet, we would be friends right away. We've all heard the saying...."I got your back", well I can sure feel it here.
Thanks again,
Air Force Dad,

RE: how much can an F-350 push backwards uphill?
Thanks for the replies. It is a straight shot with really no turning involved, and it is on pavement. The truck has both ESOF plus manual locking hubs. Probably the main thing is just make sure to do it the first time without stopping.
Any further advice is much appreciated.

how much can an F-350 push backwards uphill?
I have a very unique situation. I have a one site only parking spot for my 5er which is for the summer months. The thing about it is there is no turn around at the bottom of the hill. No problem in the spring when I will bring it down there, but I'm just a little uneasy next fall when it is time to leave. I had no problem last year when I backed a 12000# 5er up the 30 plus degree grade, now I have one that weighs closer to 16000#, with an 06 F-350 6.0 CC SB FX4 18K Reese pushing it. The distance is about 100' backwards uphill. Will it get it done like I suspect it will without blowing something out? I've been backing up stuff all my life, but never something of this magnitude. Any expert advice is much appreciated. I'm more concerned with the hitch paying me a visit through the back window than I am with the truck unable to get it done. Thanks for your advice.

Reese 15,16,18K with slider
I have an 06 F-350 SRW SB CC 4WD with a Reese 15K slider that pulls an 06 Sunnybrook weighing 10600 empty. Am getting an 08 Holiday Rambler Presidential Suite SKQ 37, weighing 13300 empty. Does anyone have an opinion on moving up to a 16K or even an 18K Reese? Would the 16 or 18K mount to the rails on the 15K ?
Thanks for any help,

RE: Fuel Prices, Economy...Will this affect your plans??
I will pay to play, I love pulling my house down the highway, and I love pulling into an rv site and see all the new friends we have not met yet, or met last year. This is an awesome lifestyle and I am totally onboard with all the optimists. Last summer we got rid of the 425 hp Malibu Corvette Ski Boat. Had it since 1997, and ran through a ton of gas. This is nothing compared to what that one dimensional gas guzzler drank. That boat was the coolest thing ever but the TV pullin the hotel is where it's at, plus we can sleep in it, cook in it, live in it, hang out outside under the awning when it's raining, all kinds of options, and I'll pay to go do that with great folks like all of you. In fact I'm heading out at 6:00am Saturday morning for Panama City Beach....see ya there !

RE: Dropped 5th
Every time I read a thread like this it saves me money and embarrassment. I will check and recheck a number of times before I drive away. It ranks right up there with pulling into a site where there are low hanging trees. We pay attention when we are driving....it starts and ends with what we do when we are suppose to be paying attention. Take your time, get it done right.
RE: Buying truck - what size bed - 6-3/4 feet or 8 feet?
Tazzy, I'm in the Marina business and have had nothing but long box's since 1984. I now have an 06-350 SB CC SRW Diesel. Love it and will not be going back to the longer box. Having said that, I just want to also say that it sure seems that we see alot more Fords pulling and pushing most of the heavy stuff around.
RE: I finally have a date for the desinger
I'm sure you will be one proud and happy owner. I hope you can get away for a little while before the fishing opener. I know you and I will be busy working about then.
RE: new to the forum
Hello everyone from another new person onhis great site. I traded in an 06 Forest River, Grand Surveyor 28. Picked up an 06 SunnyBrook Titan 29CKFS. Took one trip with the previous mentioned TT, and went from Mpls to the Blackhills on I-90. I was a Bobblehead towing that with an 06 F-350 6.0 SB CC and a Blizzard Snowplow package w/leveled out front end. Have since added Firestone airbags and Mor/Ryde pin box to go along with the stock Mor/Ryde suspension on the 5ver. Am heading down for the third time to Emerald Coast RV Resort in Panama City Beach, March 5th-23rd. Beautiful place and I'm sure many on here have been there or are going there. Just love this site and it's amazing how much time I've spent reading about everybody's stuff and the help that so many people offer. What a great group of fellow 5vers to be associated with.
